Program 1 – Architects and Engineers
This course will focus on the application and integration of specific energy code requirements used when designing residential and commercial projects.
Upon completing this course, you will be able to:
- Explain how design and construction are affected by the International Energy Conservation Codes (IECC)
- Describe minimum requirements for energy-efficient design and construction
- Share the energy-efficiency requirements for building materials and equipment used in new construction, additions, renovations, and construction techniques
- Explain climate zones
- Explain thermal envelope basics
- Demonstrate compliance software, REScheck and COMcheck
