Program 2 – Students and Weatherization
This course provides a basic introduction to the many aspects of building energy codes, including their:
- Position as part of the overall ICC codes
- Benefits in terms of current energy, economic, and environmental challenges facing our world today
- Adoption and incorporation into building design and construction
Upon completing this course, you will be able to:
- Discuss your understanding of the 2009 International Energy Conservation Codes (IECC)
- Explain the intent of IECC
- Describe minimum requirements for energy-efficient design and construction
- Explain thermal envelope basics
- Demonstrate compliance software, REScheck and COMcheck
- Share code resources

- This is a 4-hour session, 8a - noon
