Bruce Dimmig, Phoenix

Accreditations & Affiliations: Licensed Architect, LEED Green Associate, Certified Building Plans Examiner, NCARB Certification & ICC Certificate Holder

Professional Achievements:

  • Started a consulting business; shortly thereafter, became recognized as an Energy Code and LEED consultant in the state of Arizona and beyond.
  • Earning my professional credentials, including my Architects licenses, ICC Building Plans Examiner and LEED Green Associate certifications.
  • Becoming a respected and integral member of my professional organizations, including the American Institute of Architects (Chair of the Community and Governmental Affairs Committee), Construction Specifications Institute, Arizona Building Officials (earning Member of the Year once, the Award of Excellence twice, and being Chair of the Code Review and Development Committee for over three years), USGBC (being a SME- Subject Matter Expert for GBCI) and the Arizona Masonry Guild.



Carl Ramsey, Flagstaff

Professional Achievements:

  • Completed extensive investigative and testing work with Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) starting over 20 years ago, including the development of various IAQ standards, practical applications, and a broad range of work related to building design standards, construction material selection and use, furnishing selection, and building maintenance standards.
  • Designed and built the first Platinum rated USGBC House in the Arizona (located west of Flagstaff) which led to awards including "Green Builder" of the year by Green Builder Magazine.
  • Designed and installed hundreds of solar/wind turbine electric and hot water generating systems in the last eight years, as well as implementing passive solar and energy conserving designs, which includes earth contact homes.



Carmen Cueva, Tucson

  • Awarded a three-year Community Housing Fellowship at the University of Arizona's Drachman Institute and developed an expertise in affordable housing design

  • Full-time faculty member at Pima Community College's Downtown Campus; selected as a Subject Matter Expert team member for Arizona's State Energy Sector Partnership - Green Energy Curriculum Center



Chuck Gunn, Mesa

Accreditations & Affiliations: Certified construction course trainer, certified mold inspector and safety manager, code certifications in ADA, NFPA, UPC, IPC, IBC, IFC, NEC, IECC, IEBC, ROC and OSHA. 30+ years construction project management and services. 10+ years developing, teaching in both classroom and online e-learning construction courses, covering all phases of construction and related activities. Employed by City of Mesa and Fulton Homes.

Professional Achievements:

  • Created the Fulton Homes on-line e-learning Construction Training Academy, a Construction Project Manager Certification program established in that aims to bridge the critical skills gap that exists within the residential construction industry.
  • Luxury home show winner in the Arizona 2002 Street of Dreams Luxury Home Show at Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club. Street of Dreams events provide visitors the unique opportunity to tour incredible luxury show homes reflecting all the latest trends in architecture, colors, interior finishes, and energy saving features & technologies.
  • Created and implemented the Maricopa County Sheriff's office Youth Assistance Foundation "S.T.A.R.S." e-learning training academy. The S.T.A.R.S. program is derived from the latest Fundamental principles on how to prevent adolescent involvement in drugs, alcohol use, peer-pressure, violence and gangs.



David Solomon, Yavapai

Accreditations & Affiliations: Licensed Arizona B-General Contractor since 1985, Master's in Liberal Arts (1994) & Arizona Certified Community College Professor

Professional Achievements:

  • Carpenter by trade; general contractor by circumstance. Spent 2½ years constructing a "picture perfect" passive solar home in Prescott, Arizona which was then designed and drafted between 1988 and 1991.
  • First created home remodeling curriculum for courses at Yavapai College in 1983. Appointed to a full time teaching position in 2007 (23 years later!).
  • Field Supervisor on the main Sedona Post Office, 1978/79. When asked if I knew how to use a transit and level, I responded no; but added quickly that I could read a book. I was hired immediately.

Karla Grijalva

  • Associate and Project Manager with Osborn Architects in Glendale CA, from 2000 to 2009.



Laura Hyneman, Mesa

Professional Achievements:

  • Currently working with City Council, Stakeholders, and the Department of Energy on adoption of the first Energy Code for Mesa.
  • Working with consultants on LEED Gold certification for two new fire stations in Mesa that comply with the Federal Guiding Principles for Sustainable New Construction and Major Renovations. Also working on a green building program for all construction in Mesa.
  • Working with the Planning Division and stakeholders to develop Design Guidelines that will accompany the Zoning Code for new development and redevelopment in Mesa. The Guidelines include Design Principles focused on Sustainable Site Planning, Green Building Practices and Energy Efficiency.



Rich Franz-Under, Tucson

Stefanie Gerstle, Tucson

  • Revised the Regional Residential Green Building Guidelines as adopted by the City of Tucson
  • Providing commercial building energy audits for the City of Tucson's Green Business Certification Program

Steve Mead, Flagstaff

Accreditations & Affiliations: PhD. In Construction Engineering from Loughborough University, one of England's top research universities. OSHA 500 certified trainer

Professional Achievements:

  • Helped develop the Coconino County Green Building Program in 2001, the first county wide green program in the country.
  • Helped create the Applied Research and Development Building at NAU. This building is the first Platinum level LEED rated building in the State of Arizona and the first high performance laboratory designed for high altitudes.
  • Designed and developed an eleven acre youth soccer complex with minimal funding and donated labor and equipment.

Supriya Goel

Terry Ford, Prescott
